Alpha for Forces runs on many bases and operations around the world, including:
Afghanistan
The Canadian military has run Alpha in Kabul.
Australia
Alpha is running in the Navy.
Canada
Alpha runs at the Royal Military College, the National Defence HQ, and within the Navy and Air Force.
Bosnia
Alpha has been run here by a number of UK Army chaplains over the past 10 years.
Germany
Alpha has been run by a number of German Militarpfarrer for their troops.
Hungary
The Roman Catholic Bishop to Forces is encouraging all his chaplains to run Alpha with their troops.
Iraq
Alpha has been run here by the US troops in Falluja and by UK troops in Basra.
Korea
Alpha has been embraced by the Korean military, and the Chaplain General has asked that an Alpha conference takes place for his chaplains.
Kosovo
A German chaplain has run Alpha here.
The Gambia
Over 500 soldiers have attended Alpha, with some going on to become the first chaplains in the Gambian Army.
UK
Alpha has been running in the Armed Forces here since 1994 and has spread particularly rapidly in the last few years, with all major garrisons now running the Alpha course. An Alpha for Forces Training conference was held at the Armed Forces Chaplaincy Training Centre in July 2004, causing further growth in the course.
USA
There is a rolling programme of Alpha on many US bases, including Fort Huachuca and Fort Leavenworth, in a number of the military academies, and on US Air Force bases. |
